Find your next step
All programs →Since 2015, SCA Chess Academy has helped young learners in Shanghai build their chess skills, focus and confidence. At our Hongqiao and Jinqiao campuses, children learn in English through structured lessons, practical games and professional coaching.
Every child starts at a different point. We help families find a suitable learning pathway, recognize progress and discover the next challenge. Along the way, children make friends, learn from their coaches and build the confidence to keep improving, one move at a time.
Why choose SCA
Professional guidance
Our team includes FIDE-qualified coaches and titled players. They bring teaching and competitive experience to lessons, helping students understand their decisions and develop independent thinking.
A clear learning pathway
Structured, level-based learning helps students build strong foundations and develop more advanced ideas as they progress.
Coach feedback helps families understand their child's development and the next step.
An English learning environment
Our chess courses are taught in English. Students explore chess ideas, ask questions and share their thinking through lessons and practical play.
A place to enjoy learning
Children need encouragement, friendships and room to try. Our coaches create a supportive environment where students can enjoy challenges, learn from losses and feel proud of their progress.
Experience beyond the classroom
School competitions, community events and international tournament opportunities give students different ways to apply their learning, practice sportsmanship and broaden their experience.
