ISOCL Spring Season 2024: The 2nd Qualifier’s Results
224 Young Minds Clash in a Strategy-Filled Chess Extravaganza
The International Schools Online Chess League (ISOCL) Spring Season 2024’s second qualifier, held on April 18th, has drawn to a close, leaving in its wake a rich legacy of strategic brilliance and intense competition. With 224 students from 36 schools engaging in a battle of intellect and strategy, the event was a testament to the rising talent and passion for chess among the youth.

Philippines’ Rising Chess Stars:
A special highlight of the 2nd qualifier was the successful debut of two more schools from the Philippines: Rizal High School and Philippine Cultural College. Their impressive performances, securing the 3rd and 4th place respectively, have set the stage for a more exciting chess rivalry in the upcoming qualifiers.

Upcoming Final Qualifier
As the dust settles from the 2nd qualifier, the ISOCL community is already gearing up for the final qualifier on May 23rd. Players are encouraged to join the tournament through this Link . The anticipation is palpable as the young chess players prepare for the last chance to qualify.
Ensuring Fair Play with Webcams
In a pioneering move to ensure fair play, the top 10 players from the 1st qualifier were requested to join the tournament with their webcams on. Most players complied, and their participation was not only scored but also monitored for transparency. Building on this success, the top 20 players from the 2nd qualifier will be invited to an online meeting with their webcams on during the 3rd Qualifier. This initiative underscores ISOCL’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the game.
