8th Season of ISOCL Concludes with Unparalleled Chess Mastery

Dear chess players and strategic masters, 

The 8th season of the International Schools Online Chess League (ISOCL) has drawn to a resounding close with the finals held on June 6th. The chess community witnessed an extraordinary display of intellect and strategy from the best young minds in chess across the globe. This season saw participation from international schools in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Changzhou, Xiamen, Chongqing, Hong Kong, and Manila, elevating the competition to unprecedented heights. 

Season Overview

The level of competition this season was significantly higher than in previous seasons, with schools from various cities in China Mainland, Hong Kong, and the Philippines pushing the boundaries of chess excellence. We are excited to see this upward trend continue with each new season. 

Final Six Results

The Final Six was a showcase of exceptional performance, led by Victory Christian International School with a perfect score of 100 points. The fight for the 2nd place was intense, with International School Manila clinching the silver with 87 points, and Wellington College International Shanghai securing the bronze with 83 points.

 

The Challengers’ Final

The Challengers’ Final was a thrilling contest, with the top and bottom teams separated by just 13 points, demonstrating the high calibre of all participating teams. 

 

 

Individual Excellence

Anti-Cheating Measures and Compliance 

In adherence to our commitment to fair play, top players from each team in the Final Six were requested to join an online meeting during the tournament with their webcams on, displaying both their screens and profiles. We are proud to report that all players and teams complied, ensuring a transparent and fair competition.
